Limits describe the behavior of a function as the input approaches a value.

Continuity means the function has no breaks, jumps, or holes at that point.

  • lim(x→a) f(x) exists if left and right hand limits match.
  • Continuous at x = a ⇔ lim(x→a) f(x) = f(a)
