Coordinate Geometry is the study of geometry using a coordinate system, typically the Cartesian plane.

The plane is divided into four quadrants:

  • Quadrant I: Positive x and positive y.
  • Quadrant II: Negative x and positive y.
  • Quadrant III: Negative x and negative y.
  • Quadrant IV: Positive x and negative y.

Each point on the plane is represented by an ordered pair (x, y), where x is the horizontal distance and y is the vertical distance from the origin (0, 0).
